This course provides an introduction to the policy framework of the European Union, focusing on how EU institutions formulate, implement and evaluate policies that affect economic activity, businesses and citizens.
Students will examine the institutional structure of the EU, the policy-making process, and major policy areas including the Single Market, competition policy, trade policy, social policy, environmental policy and digital transformation.
Special attention is given to the economic rationale of EU policies, the interaction between European and national governance, and the implications for firms operating within the European market.
The course also explores current policy debates and emerging priorities such as green transition, digital regulation and industrial strategy.
